Dan Lantz is a senior honors pre-veterinary animal science major with a minor in applied music/percussion. He is an active undergraduate, participating in Ag Ambassadors, AgCC (Vice President), Collegiate 4-H (Treasurer), Animal Science Club, and Alpha Zeta, all while serving as one of the drum majors of the 2008 UD Marching Band.
Dr. Bill Saylor, professor of poultry nutrition, was recently named a fellow of the Poultry Science Association. Dr. Saylor is known nationally and internationally for his work to improve dietary phosphorus use in chickens through the use of the enzyme phytase and genetically altered lines of corn, with the end goal of reducing nutrient pollution from the use of poultry manure on croplands.
Ashley Carter is the newest elephant trainer at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. She graduated in 2005 with a bachelor's of science degree in animal science.
Kayla Martell competed in the Miss Delaware pageant Saturday, and although she didn’t win the crown, the experience in itself was rewarding, she says. Martell competed as Miss Georgetown and was one of the 10 finalists out of an original field of 19 participants.
